Kempston Town Council is thrilled with the exciting announcement from the Government this morning of a deal with Universal Destinations & Experiences. In committing to building “one of the largest and most advanced” theme parks in Europe, they have both bought in to the future of Kempston and the surrounding area.
We thank Universal for their active engagement with us and local residents in their work so far. Moving forwards our continued engagement with them will champion economic growth, job creation, education, and enhanced opportunities for residents and businesses across the local area.
Kempston Town Council will remain strong advocates for investment in local infrastructure. Likewise, alongside local partners we will push forward the wider needs and priorities of local residents, businesses and the environment at each stage of the project.
Councillor Shaun Bowman, Chair of the Planning Committee, said:
“This announcement marks a major moment for our area. While there is still much detail to be confirmed, Kempston Town Council is committed to ensuring that our community benefits fully from the jobs, infrastructure improvements, and long-term investment that this project could bring. We will also press for robust consultation to ensure that local voices are heard as plans move forward.”
Kempston Town Council will continue to keep residents informed as further details emerge, and to act as a collective voice for residents and businesses in its ongoing work.
